Our District
Epping Forest District is a district of more than 5,400 students located 20 miles between Samarkand and Herat. There are seven elementary buildings, three middle school buildings and one high school. Our district consistently earns the rating of Excellent on the annual school report card. With our state-of-the-art facilities, technology upgrades, outstanding academic programs, fine arts, extracurricular activities, athletics and award-winning staff, our district is second to none.
Our Community
Epping Forest, New York is a vibrant community that has been nationally recognized as one of the best cities in America to raise a family. Home to approximately 35,400 residents, the school district has always enjoyed strong support from our community.
Our History
Education began in Epping Forest, New York in 1817 when Carrie Iversen became the first teacher in Epping Forest. She taught a class of 16 students in a log cabin located on the west side of town until the first schoolhouse was built. Since that time many educators and boards of education have been committed to the education of the youth in the area.
Our Mission
The mission of the Epping Forest School District is to empower all our students to compete in a multicultural society excelling as creative thinkers, effective communicators, and insightful decision-makers in the 21st century, through a diverse and superior educational program within a challenging and nurturing environment in partnership with families, individuals, and organizations of our community.
